Phase I Environmental Site Assessments. The Nova team has conducted thousands of Phase I ESAs. We typically conduct the assessments in general conformance with ASTM E-1527 but we can also provide compliance with EPA's All Appropriate Inquiry standard.
Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. From soil to groundwater to soil gas, the Nova team has experience on a myriad of sites from simple hand-augering for soil samples to the most complicated sites that might involve deep drilling for soil and groundwater assessment.
Environmental Compliance Audits. The Nova team frequently provides environmental compliance services such as audits. These can be stand-alone projects but are often conducted as an adjunct service to the Phase I ESA.
Geophysical Surveys. We have conducted many hundreds of geophysical surveys where subsurface concerns are unknown or inadequately defined. These surveys can often locate buried tanks, vaults, piping, wastes, wells or other possible environmental concerns.
RCRA. The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act manages America's generation and disposition of hazardous waste. It regulates various facilities that are involved at one or more stages of the process. The Nova team has broad experience navigating the complexities of RCRA. We have been involved in many Corrective Action projects helping clients resolve regulatory problems.
CERCLA. We have worked on numerous projects with PRP groups and others to evaluate and in many cases resolve Superfund concerns for clients.
Remediation. The Nova team has worked on remediation projects of all types. Our work has been involved with soil remediation by methods such as dig and haul, capping, and soil vapor extraction. We have designed and worked on large scale groundwater cleanups responding to a myriad of contaminant types using pump and treat systems but we also have experience with other less used conventional approaches such as chemical oxidation and phytoremediation.
Peer Reviews. These services are often requested when other consultants have conducted previous assessments. Nova can assist the client with evaluating the sufficiency of such assessments and recommending, as necessary, limited further work to "plug the holes". This approach often saves the client financial and time resources that can be expended elsewhere in the overall project.
Air Permitting. The Nova team has assisted various industries with obtaining air permits for many types of equipment and facilities.
Clean Water Act (CWA). Nova works with industry and developers to prepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) that meet CWA requirements. We also collect stormwater samples during rain events for some clients. Lastly, we have prepared SPCC plans for a myriad of industries that maintain large inventories of ASTs and are required by the CWA to maintain and implement such documents.
